You know how at all the best parties everyone ends up in the kitchen? Our chef’s table parties start in the kitchen, are served in the kitchen and end in the kitchen. We feature good food from our local friends that are simply prepared and served up in a setting of white ware, buttery lamplight, jeweled rows of last week’s canning and prep tables. discovered her love of food growing up cooking with her grandmother. She started working in kitchens at fifteen, and decided to pursue her culinary career by attending The Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park New York. While on her CIA externship at the Little Nell, in Aspen Colorado she made connections that led to her co-ownership of a bean-to-bar chocolate company. Crafting chocolate from the beans emphasized to her the importance of whole foods, and scratch cooking, which influences her methods and style to this day.
Lindsey started working at The Wandering Café in 2011 as a prep cook. She took over as the chef a year later, learning the catering business in the process. In fall of 2013 she purchased the company from Kristine Pottle. Catering is the perfect outlet to express her creativity and help clients create the perfect menu and event.

Kristine has twenty years of experience as a chef and caterer. She began in Buffalo, NY catering for friends and family as a part time job while in school. Her creative style allowed her catering to grow into a viable business in great demand before finishing college. She has a Bachelors Degree in Fine Art from University of NY at Buffalo.
Kristine officially opened The Wandering Cafe in 1993. She provided clients with such superb service in Buffalo that they would bring her to their additional residences in Manhattan, Palm Beach, Vero Beach & Miami, Forida. Hence, “wandering”! Among her many private clients, Kristine catered regularly for several departments at State University of NY Buffalo, including the President’s Office; as well as NY Senator Alfonse DeMato, NY City Mayor Rudolph Giuliani and NYS Governors Cuomo & Pataki.
After the September 11th tragedy The Wandering Cafe closed, and Kristine relocated to Seattle. While working at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center as caterer and event planner, Kristine realized the need for specialized catering in Seattle and in 2004 opened The Wandering Cafe “West”. The word about Kristine and her excellent food traveled fast around Seattle, and the business grew rapidly. In July 2005, she finally realized her life-long dream and The Wandering Cafe production kitchen & venue opened in North Seattle.
The Wandering Cafe works with many local businesses, non-profits and private clients around the Puget Sound area, some of which include the University of Washington and the UW President’s Private Home, Seattle’s own Ann Wilson, Microsoft, Arts Corps, The Henry Art Gallery, Northwest Film Forum, Nordstrom, Expedia and many more.
Kristine is an excellent self-taught chef. With her years of cooking experience, event coordination, extensive travel and overall curiosity, she has developed a unique flair for catering, with an emphasis on taste and aesthetics that has proven she is one of the best.
